I seriously love anything charred – charred chicken, charred fish, charred veggies. Now that I live in a home with only an electric oven it makes me seriously miss that authentic flavor of cooking on gas or grilling on a BBQ.
These charred leeks bring me so much joy as they replicate the joy of good food & getting the effect of cooking on gas while using my electric stovetop! How? SIMPLE!!!
30-Minute Charred Leeks
Heat oil & melt butter on hot pan.
Add leeks, face down and let cook on each side for 5 minutes or until it gets the required color.
Add dried peppermint & water. Cover to cook till soft.
Season at the very end! & serve with a side of steak or chicken or just add it to your salad! YUM!!!
