We’ve all heard the craze about the Ramen Burger – only thing was I didn’t know where I could try it in Dubai. So I decided to invite my friend Anam and we set on a mission to create & eat that yummy multi-layered burger. After searching online for recipes I found a great one from Popsugar’s #eatthetrend, made some minor adjustments & voila a delicious Ramen Burger emerged ready for eating.
Serves 2 people
- ¼ kg minced beef
- ½ Tbs fish sauce
- ½ Tbs sesame oil
- 1 Tbs soy sauce
- ¼ Tbs ginger paste
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 2 packs ramen noodles
- 4 eggs
- 2 drizzles of corn oil
- ½ avocado
- 1 bunch arugula
In a pot with boiling water, add the 2 packs of ramen noodles. Cook for 3-4 minutes till tender then drain & rinse with cold water. Set aside to cool for 5 minutes. In a bowl, break 2 eggs and mix in the ramen noodles along with its seasoning.
In 4 equal-sized ramekins & either spray them or place plastic wrap in the bottom & fill each with an equal amount of noodles. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix the minced beef with fish sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger paste, & garlic until combined.
Prepare the patties making each one slightly larger than the size of the ramekins (keep in mind the more you cook the meat, the more it will shrink).
When the noodles have cooled and have held their shape you’ll know they are ready to pan fry. In a large pan, on low-med heat, add a drizzle of oil, wait a minute then swiftly flip over the ramen noodles and let pan-fry for 5 minutes on each side or until crispy.
In a separate pan on medium heat, add a drizzle of oil and begin pan-frying the minced beef patties for about 8-10 minutes, or according to your preference. Let them rest for 2 minutes (so as not to lose the juices when biting into them).
Cut the avocado lengthwise. Wash and pat dry the arugula.
In a small pan, cook 2 eggs – 1 egg at a time and set aside.
Place the 1st ramen noodle layer, then add arugula, avocado, beef, an egg then another ramen layer
