This lemon granita recipe is so refreshing & fool-proof! It’s so easy & delicious, you simply can’t go wrong.

In Arabic cuisine we love adding ingredients like orange blossom or rose water, the added aroma & flavor gives this an elevated flavor which pairs perfectly with basil. A true match made in heaven!

Frosty Lemon Granita Recipe

Serves 8

Ingredients
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tbsp orange blossom
  • 2 cups fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup basil, finely chopped

Preparation

Dissolve sugar and orange blossom in boiling water and set aside to cool.

Mix in the lemon juice and basil. Freeze for one hour.

Take out of the freezer and break ice with fork and return to the freezer.

Repeat this process 2-3 more times, then freeze until the mixture is set.

Before serving, break up the ice again and serve in bowls or in lemon halves. It is best to cut the bottom of the lemon for a flat surface. Garnish with basil leaves.
